Dr. Karenne Fru was born in Cameroon, West Africa. She received a BA in Biology at Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia.
She subsequently completed medical training at the Medical College of Georgia, receiving doctorates in Medicine and Physiology. Her dissertation research was in peri-ovulatory events in non-human primates.
She completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Greenville Hospital Systems, Greenville SC. Subsequent Fellowship training was in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Current research interests include recurrent pregnancy loss, mullerian anomalies, racial disparities in reproductive health, impact of hematologic diseases on reproduction, special communities’ interaction with reproductive health specialists.
Dr Fru is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Outside the office Dr Fru is a competent salsa dancer, gardener, cook and photographer. She is also interested in travel and foreign languages including French, Spanish, Korean and Hindi.
