Dr. Tarnawa graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas before receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he finished first in his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society. Before joining PREG in 2017, Dr. Tarnawa completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at MUSC in Charleston. He then completed fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he remained for three years in private practice prior to returning to South Carolina.
Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Tarnawa considers the trust earned from his patients the highest honor one can achieve and welcomes patients at our Summerville and Mt. Pleasant centers in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He enjoys training students and residents and was honored to be selected alongside other leaders in the field as a co-author for the current edition of PROLOG: Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, a classic resource published by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists designed for physicians and other health care professionals seeking to assess and update their clinical knowledge.
A member of the Board of Trustees at his daughter’s school, Dr. Tarnawa and his family enjoy being a part of the downtown Summerville community and spending as much time at Kiawah Island as they can.
