About us

Founded in 2002 by Dr. John Nichols, Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG) is a private infertility clinic, and we are consistently recognized nationally for our exceptional pregnancy success rates. We now have seven in-house physicians – Dr. John Nichols, Dr. John Payne, Dr. Travis McCoy, Dr. Edward Tarnawa, Dr. Lisa Cookingham, Dr. Kathryn Snow, and Dr. Kathryn Imgrund who specialize in advanced infertility treatments including IUI, IVF, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, tubal-reversal, and hysterosalpingography (HSG), plus other complex procedures.

We take a positive, compassionate approach with all our patients. We know the amount of strength it takes to make this commitment, and we work together with our patients to achieve the result that’s right for everyone. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual patient, considering age, lab results, medical history, and personal preference. Our doctors carefully review each case and make recommendations based on all the gathered information.

Currently with five locations, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, our nearly 10,000 square-foot facility contains a Surgical Suite, accredited by the American Association of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, as well as In Vitro Fertilization, Andrology, and Endocrine laboratories. Our practice is the only one in the Southeast with three IVF labs as well as three surgery centers.

PREG has a strategic successful growth model and provides care to a large geographic region which covers multiple states. Our dynamic team of physicians are actively involved in all aspects of private and academic medicine as well as a long track record of excellence in both patient care, advanced surgical procedures, including robotics, and clinical research.

Company History

Dr. John Nichols spent the first seven years of his career in academic institutions and hospital settings. He established Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group in 2003, as the Medical Director to be able to care for his patients without institutional constraints. He has grown PREG to be one of the premier fertility clinics in the United States.

PREG has grown from a very small start-up small practice with one location to a multi-state practice with five offices, three IVF labs, three fully accredited surgery centers, seven full-time physicians, five advanced practice providers and one hundred plus employees. PREG has consistently maintained pregnancy rates higher than the national average, been involved with research, teaching and have many published articles.

Board Certified/Eligible REI Physician

Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG) is seeking board certified/eligible physicians for all our centers. Immediate positions available and would also consider fellows 1-2 years from program completion. PREG represents the largest network of fertility centers in the Carolinas, featuring five locations (Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg, SC and Asheville, NC) and three IVF labs (Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville centers). Our team currently consists of seven physicians and three mid-level providers who provide the breadth and depth of reproductive medicine services. We feature in-house egg and embryo donation programs with two full-time 3rd party ART coordinators. Three of our centers are fully accredited as surgery centers, allowing for on-site performance of procedures such as operative hysteroscopy, D&C, and tubal reversal, in addition to all IVF-related procedures. Our embryology team is led by an on-site laboratory director who oversees a team of 8 additional embryologists who boast a total of almost 90 years of combined experience. Requirements:

Permanent resident of the U.S.
Fellowship trained and board certified/eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Ready to establish roots in the Southeast
Eager to work with and able to lead an exceptional group of people

Registered Nurse - Columbia Center

About us

Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group is a fertility center in Columbia, SC. Our goal is to help patients achieve their dream of having a family. Seeking an Outgoing and Compassionate Individual for our Nursing Team at the PREG – Columbia location. We are looking for a new dedicated staff member who is customer service oriented, friendly, and able to multi-task. Three years nursing experience on labor and delivery or OB/GYN is preferred although, not required for the right candidate.. The most important traits for someone in this position would be compassionate, social, friendly, and detail oriented and can work independently.

This position will work as part of a nursing team to work closely with physicians, nurse providers and other nursing professionals to provide exceptional patient care. The registered nurse best suited for this position will need to bring excitement and a genuine care for people, be able to learn procedures and processes quickly, be self-motivated and willing to get the job done. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience and outstanding patient care at every appointment.

Requirements: A current SC Registered Nurse license.
